Funko Movie May Be the First Marvel/DC Crossover Film
Funko fans rejoice! Your favorite collectibles are now starring in an all-new film that could also be the very first Marvel/DC crossover to hit the big screen.
After the huge success of the LEGO movie franchise, Warner Bros. has reportedly begun development on a Funko! movie based on the vinyl figures that have taken the world by storm. Although the plot of the film is still unknown, Daniel Richtman from SuperBroMovies found out that the character list includes Darth Vader, Hellboy, Deadpool, Baby Groot, the Care Bears, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, My Little Pony, and Hello Kitty.
With DC characters like Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn mixing with Marvel characters Deadpool and Groot, this will be the first time the universes collide on the big screen.
Zombieland Sequel Focuses on Columbus’ Second Rule of Survival
In Zombieland, we learned Columbus’ rules of survival. The first is cardio and the second is double tap. Well, now that Sony has released the first poster for Zombieland 2, we know that the official title of the film will be Zombieland: Double Tap, focusing on Columbus’ second rule of survival.
The poster also revealed that the main cast (Harrelson as Tallahassee, Eisenberg as Columbus, Stone as Wichita and Breslin as Little Rock) will return for a whole new zombie encounter. However, they won’t be as close as they were before as the story will revolve around Columbus and Wichita getting into a fight that breaks up the family. Little Rock will leave with a man named Berkeley, played by Avan Jogia, and the group will ultimately have to encounter all new zombies on their adventure to find Little Rock.
Besides the main cast, Bill Murray is also expected to return along with his Ghostbusters co-star Dan Aykroyd. Zoey Deutch and Rosario Dawson are also reportedly joining the cast as the filming starts in Atlanta this month.
Toodaloo! Ken Jeong Reportedly Cast in Avengers: Endgame
Infinity War provided one of the largest casts in MCU history. However, the universe is about to get bigger with the casting of The Hangover’s Ken Jeong.
Not much is known about Ken Jeong’s role, but he’s likely going to be a quick cameo. This would make him the third actor from Community to be featured in a Russo Brothers MCU film. Jim Rash appeared in Captain America: Civil War as an M.I.T. employee and Danny Pudi was a S.H.I.E.L.D. comms tech in Captain America: Winter Soldier. If we stick with the tech trend, it looks like Jeong will be playing some type of IT/tech specialist role in Endgame.
Rumors also suggest that Rene Russo will return as Frigga, Frank Grillo will return as Crossbones, John Slattery as Howard Stark, and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter. If the rumors are true, this would all point to the use of time travel in the upcoming Avengers film.
Wakanda Forever: Free Black Panther Screenings at AMC
Released almost a year ago, Black Panther is returning to show that Wakanda truly is forever. Disney announced that Black Panther will be celebrating Black History Month by offering free showings at over 250 AMC locations.
You can catch one of two free screenings every day between February 1st and 7th. Be sure to visit weticketit.com/blackpanther to see if the film is showing in your area.
As part of the celebration, Disney has also donated $1.5 million to the United Negro College Fund.
Tom and Jerry Return for a Hybrid Live Action/Animation Film
The famous cat and mouse duo is making their way to the big screen to teach younger generations about classic cartoons. From the director of Ride Along and Fantastic Four, the film is expected to be a live action/animation hybrid that will feature the two main characters alongside actress Jennifer Lawrence.
Based on the first released concept art for the movie, we can expect Tom and Jerry to look pretty much the same as they have for the past 80 years. However, this time, we’ll see them evolve into the live-action realm and interact with real human actors.
