Hayao Miyazaki Rumored to Return for Two More Films

Hayao Miyazaki fans will be spirited away once again as one of his collaborators, Vincent Maraval has announced that the legendary animated filmmaker is returning to create two more Studio Ghibli movies with his son, Gorō Miyazaki.

Back in 2016, we learned that Miyazaki was working on a film entitled How Do You Live? which is expected to release in 2020. However, it seems as though Maraval is referring to two entirely new films.

Although there isn’t much known about the two films right now, we can expect Miyazaki to make another move out of retirement and bring us some more Studio Ghibli magic in the very near future.

24 Jump Street is in the Works

During an interview with We Live Entertainment, 21 Jump Street director Phil Lord revealed that they are currently developing 24 Jump Street.

Now, this might seem odd for fans of the film since there has already been a 21 and 22 Jump Street, but no 23 Jump Street. However, when asked why it was called 24 Jump Street, Lord simply said, “We’re reserving 23 Jump Street”.

This odd jump is something Phil Lord would definitely do, but don’t freak out just yet – the director basically just confirmed that we will also see 23 Jump Street in the future.

Fly Like an Eagle This Summer as Space Jam 2 Starts Filming

Fans of Space Jam will be flying like an eagle very soon because DiscussingFilm has reported that Space Jam 2 will start filming on June 17, 2019, in California.

This date was chosen to revolve around the 2019 NBA Finals. Since Lebron James will take over Michael Jordan’s star lead in the film, the production team wanted to make sure the Finals wasn’t going to interfere with their production schedule. If the Lakers make it to the championship round, the last possible date of gameplay will be June 16th.

Besides Lebron James, Space Jam 2 will also bring on Terence Nance as the director and Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler as the producer.

The DC and Marvel Universes Collide in Black and Blue

After the surprise cancellation of Luke Cage, actor Mike Colter is moving on to something new. He will bring together the DC and Marvel Universe by working with Black Lightning’s Nafessa Williams on the upcoming cop thriller, Black and Blue.

Also starring Naomie Harris and Tyrese Gibson, the film is about a rookie cop in New Orleans that witnesses her fellow officers murdering a drug dealer. Although she filmed the entire scene on her body camera, the corrupt cops pin the crime on her. They then come hunting for her throughout the night to destroy the incriminating body cam footage.
