Ryan Reynolds Was Almost in Zombieland 2
Zombieland 2 featured a star-studded cast, but it also almost included “Merc with a Mouth” actor, Ryan Reynolds. According to Deadline, writers Reese and Wernick originally wanted Reynolds to play Albuquerque, a role that was eventually played by Luke Wilson.
The writers and actor all tried to make it work, but ultimately Reynold’s family and acting schedule did not align with the shooting schedule of Zombieland 2.
Wernick said, “We made it a goal to do only Ryan Reynolds movies, but this one slipped through our fingers. Luke was amazing and it worked out terrific for us”.
Reworked Sonic the Hedgehog Possibly Revealed
Back in December we reported that Paramount Pictures was heading back to the drawing board because fans were not a fan of how Sonic looked. Well, it seems as though we might have just gotten a glimpse of what the new Sonic might look like.
A Sonic fan page called Tails’ Channel tweeted a photo of what looks like a movie standee at a mysterious theater. Although no one is sure how official the standee is, it looks as though Paramount fixed the hedgehog’s odd eyes and mismatched legs.
Shang-Chi Movie Given a Working Title
A Shang-Chi movie has been in development for about a year now, but we haven’t seen many updates on it besides its real name, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and that Simu Liu was cast as Shang-Chi.
However, recently HN Entertainment revealed that the working title for the movie will be Steamboat. Since most working titles are used to prevent any spoilers or disruption while working on site, the name doesn’t reveal anything about the film. However, it does show that we’re one step closer to adding Shang-Chi to the MCU.
Writers Reveal a Deleted Captain America Scene from Infinity War
During Infinity War, Thanos snapped half of the world out of existence and apparently the writers also snapped out a scene featuring Captain America. According to writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Infinity War was originally going to include a scene of Captain America eating bloodied mashed potatoes. It was meant to show what Steve Rogers was doing leading up to Infinity War, after his fight with Tony Stark and fallout with the government.
According to Markus and McFreely, “There was one scene, it was in Infinity War. We wrote it, we didn’t shoot it. It was part and parcel of a whole thing where we realized we were picking up the characters too early in their arc before Thanos had gotten to them. It was a scene of basically Widow and Falcon and Cap in hiding post-Civil War and they’d just been through a big fight with criminals, and Cap was eating mashed potatoes, and Falcon says ‘You’re bleeding in your mashed potatoes’. He looks at him like… yeah, he is bleeding into his mashed potatoes. I remember Kevin [Fiege] going ‘He’s bleeding into his mashed potatoes?! I don’t want to see that!’ Yeah, maybe we went a little too… something.”
Ultimately, the scene was too much and they removed it from the film. However, it would’ve been interesting to see more of what the Avengers were doing while in hiding.
