Kevin Hart Collects $200 as the Star of the New Monopoly Movie
It’s time to collect those railroad properties and buy your hotels because the Monopoly game is now being turned into a live-action movie. After 10 years of trying, Hasbro has finally received the go-ahead from Lionsgate to move forward with the project. Kevin Hart is set to star in the movie, and he’ll be joined by director Tim Story.
Hart and Story have worked together on previous comedies such as the two Ride Along films and Think Like a Man movies. Therefore, we can only expect the Monopoly movie to bring the same type of comedic performances.
New Mutants May Be Resurrected on Hulu
We’ve all seen the New Mutants trailer a countless number of times over the last year because the film has had a rocky start. After many delays, it seems as though the movie will be pushed back once again, and this time to Hulu.
New Mutants, the X-Men franchise’s dive into the realm of horror, was originally expected to release on April 13th, which was then pushed back to August 2nd due to extensive reshoots.
However, according to Merc With a Podcast’s Scott Bechtel, Fox is still struggling to create a finished product. He believes that the film will be pushed back to a November 2019 release date and has confirmed that Fox is considering releasing the film on Hulu rather than the big screen.
Toy Story 4 Toys with a New Plot
The fourth and final installment of the nostalgic Toy Story series will hit theaters this summer. The film will feature a star-studded cast including the return of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen as well as newcomers Keanu Reeves, Jordan Peele, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Although we haven’t seen much about the film lately, the film site Super Bro Movies has revealed some new information about Toy Story 4’s plot. According to them, the story picks up where Toy Story 3 last ended.
Our favorite toys are in their new home with Bonnie, living the good life. However, a new toy called Forky, voiced by Tony Hale, will shake their world upside down. Forky doesn’t consider himself a toy (most likely because he’s made out of a spork and pipe cleaners) and decides to take some of the other toys with him to the outside world. They end up at a carnival and meet some carnival prizes called Ducky, voiced by Keegan-Michael Key, and Bunny, voiced by Jordan Peele. Together they all embark on a new emotional adventure and learn once and for all what it really means to be a toy.
Shazam! Strikes a Bolt of Lightning and Drops Hilarious Teaser
Fans have all been waiting for Shazam!’s second official trailer which is expected to drop this Tuesday. However, Warner Bros. shocked everyone when they released a hilarious teaser days before the film’s trailer release.
The minute-long teaser features the shocking moment where Billy Batson leaps off a building, shouts “Shazam”, and is transformed into the adult superhero by a bolt of lightning. We then see him flying through the sky and going head-to-head with the film’s villain, Dr. Sivana.
However, this is where the action ends. The next scenes are prefaced by a play on the Joker’s iconic line, “Why so serious?” and suggests that Shazam is “not so serious”. We then see Shazam attempting to buy the “finest beer” and a new lair “overlooking some water.”
Shazam! will blast into theaters on April 5th, and is expected to be a more lightheaded and humorous contrast to the rest of the DC Universe.
Superhero Landing! X-Force Film Will Release Before Deadpool 3
After teasing the characters of the X-Force in Deadpool 2, it looks like the team will get a superhero landing straight onto the big screen.
According to a ScreenRant interview with Deadpool screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, an X-Force movie is in the works and is expected to release before Deadpool 3. They said, “According to the chronology that we’ve established, X-Force will be next, before Deadpool 3. It’s a bit of the ‘Iron Man 1, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3’ model, in that sense. X-Force isn’t being written by us. It’s being written and directed by Drew Goddard, or at least that’s the plan right now.”
After the release of Bad Times at the El Royale, Goddard started working on the script for X-Force. However, Fox’s acquisition by Disney could hinder the progress of the film. We may see a less R-rated version of the film or we could see Disney continuing Ryan Reynold’s vision.
