In this edition:

  • New Hellboy Movie Poster and Trailer Release
  • The Empire State Building Bleeds Yellow for the Simpsons
  • Joker Wraps Filming in New York
  • Kingdom Hearts 3 Final Battle Trailer Reveals Second Playable Character
  • Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Sequel

New Hellboy Movie Poster and Trailer Release

IGN released a new movie poster for the Hellboy reboot that features David Harbour’s version of the half-demon. If you take a look at the poster, you may notice that Hellboy looks a little different than normal, and that’s because he has these massive horns.

The unshaven horns are particularly important because Hellboy has always had his horns shaved or cut down in previous Hellboy images. This was seen as a way to keep his true demon in check.  However, this poster reveals that the demon will grow to his true power and potential during the film’s reboot.

IGN has also confirmed that the Hellboy trailer will drop on Thursday, December 20th and David Harbour has even released a motion poster on his Instagram.

Hellboy is directed by Game of Thrones’ Neil Marshall and stars David Harbour as Hellboy, Milla Jovovich as Nimue the Blood Queen, and Ian McShane as Professor Bruttenholm. The movie is set to hit theaters on April 12th.

The Empire State Building Bleeds Yellow for the Simpsons

On Sunday, the Empire State Building was lit in yellow to commemorate the 30th anniversary of The Simpsons. The show first aired on December 17, 1989, and has released 649 episodes since – making it the longest-running animated series.

This isn’t the first time the Empire State Building has paid tribute to its Springfield family. In 2007, the landmark tower was also lit yellow to mark the release of The Simpsons movie.

Joker Wraps Filming in New York

Director Todd Phillips confirmed via Instagram that principal photography has now been completed for Joker, but “we’re not there yet.” He also went on to thank the “greatest crew NYC has to offer” which is where the film was filmed.

The upcoming film stars Joaquin Phoenix as Joker and will be separate from the larger DC universe. With a lower budget than other DC films, Joker will also be more of a character study that dives deep into the personality and origins of the villain. Warner Bros. even describes the movie as “an exploration of a man disregarded by society that is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale”.

The film will be set in the 80s and features the Clown Prince of Crime when he was a struggling comedian known as Arthur Fleck. It is set to hit theaters on October 4, 2019, but hopefully, we’ll get to see a trailer drop soon.

Kingdom Hearts III Final Battle Trailer Reveals Second Playable Character

The Kingdom Hearts Battle Trailer was released yesterday, one day ahead of schedule and features another playable character other than Sora. If you watch the trailer and check out the 1:05 mark, you’ll find the gamer playing as Sora’s childhood friend, Riku.

Other characters shown in the trailer include friends from Frozen, Pooh and friends, Mike and Sully, Woody and Buzz, Tangled characters, Ratatouille, Jack Sparrow, Stitch, Baymax, and Mickey and friends.

Kingdom Hearts III is set to release January 29th.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Sequel

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swung into theaters last week, but Sony is already making plans for the sequel.

The next Spider-Verse movie will feature a Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy romance. This was originally meant to be played in the first film, but producer Christine Steinberg wanted to establish Gwen as a hero first and Miles’ love interest second.

Spider-Gwen will also star in her own spin-off which will feature Jessica “Spider-Woman” Drew and Cindy “Silk” Moon in a female butt-kicking, superhero team.

A live-action Silk movie is also rumored to be in the works and Avi Arad, CEO of Marvel Studios,  said that there may even be a possible Spider-Ham spin-off. Sony already has plans for a Morbius film starring Jared Leto, a Venom sequel, and a potential Sinister Six movie.

Now go on and spread the news and tune in tomorrow for the latest word on the street.
