Best Secrets Hidden in Your Favorite Disney Films

The wonderful world of Disney is full of secrets and surprises. Therefore, you most likely didn’t catch any of these hidden Easter eggs, references, and secrets in your favorite Disney movies.

Disney Princesses Crash Anna and Elsa’s Party in Frozen

For the first time in forever, Anna and Elsa open up the castle to visitors and it was apparently more popular than we thought. A couple of A-list Disney princesses show up to crash the party.

When Anna opens the gates and starts welcoming her guests, you can catch a glimpse of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider joining the festivities. In the picture above, you’ll find them in the bottom-left corner.

Later on, as Elsa is looking out over the attendees, you can also catch another fan favorite. During this scene, on the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll find Tiana wearing a green dress with her “happily ever after,” Prince Naveen.

Mickey and the Gang Watch Triton’s Grand Appearance in The Little Mermaid

Disney is full of hidden Mickeys, but did you catch this one? During the beginning of The Little Mermaid, King Triton addresses his underwater kingdom while riding on some dolphins. If you look very closely, you’ll find Mickey, Donald, and Goofy hidden among the masses. Kermit the Frog is also in attendance, and you can spot him in the same scene if you look close enough.

Nani from Lilo & Stitch Loves Mulan

Apparently, Mulan influenced Lilo & Stitch because you can find hints of the fighter throughout the Hawaiian film. Nani has a poster of Mulan hanging up in her room and the family passes by a restaurant named” Mulan Wok” when they first adopt little Stitch.

In the photo above, you can spot the Mulan poster behind Nani’s bed.

From King of Pride Rock to Throw Rug in Hercules

Assassinating the king and stealing the crown sure does come with a price, as Scar from The Lion King learned firsthand. When Hercules is being painted in Hercules, he is wearing an interesting headpiece. Hercules then throws his garment towards Phil and as Phil goes to pick it up, you’ll notice that the headpiece is actually a skinned Scar. Here, it looks like he was punished for his crimes and sentenced to life as a throw rug.

Aladdin’s Carpet and Magic Lamp Appear in Princess and the Frog

In the opening scene of Princess and the Frog, while Tiana is singing “Down in New Orleans”, you might catch a glimpse of Aladdin’s magic carpet. A woman on a balcony is dusting off the flying tapestry right before the movie’s title appears onscreen.

Later on in the film, when Mama Odie is singing “Dig a Little Deeper,” she’s throwing random objects at the snake. Look closely because you’ll find that she also throws the Genie’s magic lamp right past the reptile’s face.

Maurice’s Trinkets in the Live-Action Beauty and the Beast

In the live-action Beauty and the Beast, Belle’s dad makes music boxes. On his work desk, you’ll find a windmill that’s a model of his old home in Paris and a music box with an elephant and palace on it. This palace is Agrabah Palace from Aladdin and the elephant is the one that Genie transformed Abu into so that he could transport Prince Ali. During this scene, the shot pans out and you can also find a canoe trinket with a man and woman holding hands inside. This represents the scene from The Little Mermaid where Ariel and Eric row to the song, “Kiss the Girl”.

Pumbaa and Belle Appear in The Hunchback of Notre Dame

During Quasimodo’s song “Out there”, the shot pans out from the Hunchback of Notre Dame and zooms into the city. When the camera zooms into the city, you’ll see Belle from Beauty and the Beast walking through the town reading a book. The man behind her is also holding a purple and blue rug in his hand that is an exact replica of Aladdin’s magic carpet.

Later in the movie, when Frollo chases Quasimodo and Esmeralda around the bell tower, Pumbaa from The Lion King also makes a cameo as a gargoyle.
