Captain Marvel Concept Art Provides Evidence This MCU Hero is a Skrull

Captain Marvel is expected to feature a “younger” Nick Fury from the 90s. However, this transformation isn’t the only one we’ll see from the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Reddit user sergioprism posted concept art from a page of Captain Marvel: The Art of the Movie which shows Nick Fury’s full transformation from Skrull to S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

In this photo, the Skrull’s final shapeshifting form is an older Nick Fury with one eye, instead of the younger, two-eyed Fury we can expect to see in Captain Marvel.  So, could this concept art prove that Nick Fury will actually perish in the film and a Skrull will take his place? Could we finally find out what happens to Fury’s eye?

Skrulls are green, shape-shifting extraterrestrials from the Andromeda Galaxy that pose as imposters of a civilization, silently infiltrate its ranks, and ultimately take over a planet. According to the Captain Marvel trailer, these Skrulls have their sights set on Earth and have already planted imposters in our world.

As a very high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. official and the person that organized the Avengers, Nick Fury would be the perfect candidate for the Skrulls to impersonate. If Nick Fury were revealed to be a Skrull, that could completely shatter the MCU as we know it and change the course of movie history.
